The Canadian Virtual Education Fairs target primarily multilingual international students in From Europe, North, West and Central Africa.

These bilingual virtual student fairs showcasing the range of educational programs offered across Canada will not only help Canada diversify the provenance of international students, they will also make it possible to diversify the places where they will study in Canada. The current crisis related to COVID-19 will have a direct impact on student mobility. It will also have an impact on the ability of Canadian institutions to reach the limited number of students who are exploring their study abroad options.

One of the key initiatives related to the international education strategy is the development of a targeted digital marketing strategy. Participation in the Canadian Virtual Education Fair will allow Canadian institutions to optimize their resources while giving more international students the opportunity to explore study opportunities in Canada or online.

10 REASONS TO participate

Increased number of participants

The virtual nature of the fair will make it possible to reach a greater number of students across the various regions who would not have been able to travel to a physical fair.

More targeted prospecting approach

By promoting Canada as a study destination and education partner to a more targeted population of international students (i.e. by level of study, program of interest, region, country or city);

Focus on Academic Counselling

Targeted promotion will be done to encourage guidance counsellors to attend with their students or to encourage students and parents to join.

Expanded prospecting area

Very often, prospective students residing in major cities are the only ones who have access to in-person study fairs. For those living outside of major cities, travel and expenses to get to the fairs can be significant. Virtual fairs will connect Canadian institutions with students throughout the region.

Financial and time savings

Institutions will be able to promote their programs, talk to interested quality students, provide detailed information on all their programs from the comfort of their offices without having to carry tons of pamphlets and brochure, as required with traditional fairs.

Showcasing programs and delivery modes

By making all digital resources on programs and services offered by institutions available to more students, institutions will be able to showcase all of their programs. Participants will be able to access program information in a variety of formats.

Mobilizing all campus resources

 By enabling Canadian institutions to promote their relevant programs and services without being constrained by finances, staff shortages or the limited physical space of a regular physical fair;

Optimal use of time

The Canadian Education Virtual Fair will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (EST) or 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (GMT) each day for 2 days; which is  TWICE the time of regular virtual fairs and equivalent to at least 3 days of physical trade show. This will allow institutions to reach more participants.

 A variety of connection tools

No matter where students are, they will have access to the fair as if they were on site. Just as in a physical lounge, they will be able to connect with school representatives live via chat, video or audio conferencing from a phone, computer or tablet.

Canadian Trade commissioners

The Canadian Education virtual fair would allow Canadian institutions to receive international student recruitment support from trade commissioners beyond their physical location.
